Mailchimp is one of the leading online Email providers and you can now integrate your lists with Text Marketer’s SMS platform.

Log in to your Message Box account. Go to Manage Contacts and then drop down the Your Data button on the Import section in the top menu. Choose Mailchimp. Then complete the API details (how to connect and generate an API key in Mailchimp) and other information in the Mailchimp box.
That’s it, you’re all integrated. You’ll now see your Mailchimp lists in the Mailchimp drop down of the Manage Contacts screen in Message Box.
How to import contacts into Message Box
In your Message Box account click the ‘Manage Contacts’ icon on your home screen. once in the Managed Contacts area click the group you want to import your Mailchimp contacts to.
Then select the ‘Import’ drop down box and select Mailchimp. You will get a pop up box (image below) where you will need to add your Mailchimp API key then select your list and phone field in the drop down boxes.
Finally click the green ‘Get Subscribers’ button and your contacts will be added into your Message Box account.
If you would like to import a ‘Group Filter’ then you will need to create a group in you Mailchimp account. To do this follow the steps below.
1. Go to ‘Audience’ then select ‘Manage audience’
2. Click the ‘Manage contacts’ drop down box and select ‘Groups’
3. Click the ‘Create Groups’ button and follow the instructions to create the group
You will now be able to import that specific group into your Message Box account from your desired list. For more information on adding groups read the Mailchimp guide here
How to populate the email address field in Mailchimp via text message
Your advert would need to say something like, “Text [yourKeyword] followed by a space and your email address to 88802” (you could of course ask for more information if required like name)
You would then need to use the Text Marketer Incoming SMS API for your keyword to parse the incoming data
Then use the ‘Add a new list member‘ function in the Mailchimp API to inject the data into your audience.
